“超级”演说家，阳光正能量——西联学校举行第十八届“21世纪杯”全国英语演讲比赛校园选拔赛

　　在西联，读书是甜的！我们乐学勤奋，在丰富多彩的课堂上用不同的方式探索和冒险，发现自己，发现身边的一草一木，一人一景。在西联，英语是有生命的！我们通过美术、舞台剧、歌谣、演讲、阅读来学习英语。我们的语言有力量！它带领我们从西联走向世界，用英语敲开世界的大门。

　　2019年11月15日晚，第十八届“21世纪杯”全国英语演讲比赛昆明西南联大研究院附属学校校园选拔赛圆满落幕。为期2天的比赛中，来自小学组、初中组、高中组的参赛选手们踊跃参与、精心准备，阳光活力的西联校园见证了各位小选手的奋斗与风采。

小学组

　　我们欢聚在这里，用稚嫩的声音来展示自己，我们渴望有一天，我们的声音被世界听到。Listen! This is our voice for the world!

　　Look! This is our words for the world!

　　If I had a portal, I could go anywhere I want in a moment. I could also stay with my mother, father and grandmother every day.

　　　　To learn more and more knowledge, and promote my abilities, that is the right way to get my super powers and make my dream come true in the future.

　　If I had a super power, I wish I could have the ability to cure all the diseases. Maybe just by a touching, those sick people would be healed.

　　If you asked me what my wish was and I always said“To save the world!”. It wasn’t a joke to me.

　　Therefore, the colors are not only the basic property of our natural world, but also the reflection of human culture and emotions.

　　The world is colorful.

　　The rainbow is colorful with changing colors.

　　I feel so lucky that I could live in this colourful world. But at the same time, I notice that our world is very fragile. There is no doubt that everyone should try our best to protect our environment.

　　适逢中华人民共和国成立70周年华诞，西联学校初中学子通过演讲，述说他们的心声，向伟大祖国献礼！

　　Confessions of love to our motherland, my present for the 70th birthday of our country!

　　On the National Day, my parents and I watched the parade. The neat square arrays and the consistent pace shocked me so greatly.

　　China stands in the east of the world and its people are celebrating the 70th birthday with all kinds of ways.

　　We can buy a lot of food in the supermarket. They are healthy and delicious. But when we eat this food,we should think: why can we enjoy these food? It's just because we have a strong motherland behind us.

高中组

　　高中组的选手们用精彩纷呈的演讲内容、流利优美的语音语调、睿智机敏的现场问答、沉着稳健的舞台风范征服了中外评委和全场观众，他们围绕“Doing things right or doing right things”（ 正确地去做事还是做正确的事）演讲主题，从不同角度阐述了自己对人生的理解和感悟，表达出西联学子对待自我、对待生活的积极态度。

　　通过2天的精彩角逐和外语教育研究院英语老师及外教老师的认真评判，小学组、初中组、高中组分别评选出一、二、三等奖选手若干名。随后，优胜者将代表西联学校参加21世纪杯演讲比赛云南省复赛，与来自全省的兄弟学校选手同台竞技，展示西联学子的智慧与风采。

　　此次英语演讲系学校读书月活动之一。英语演讲是选手们对世界观、语言能力、表达能力的锻炼，更有益于选手智商、情商和逆商的发展。学习外语，学好外语，是青年人跨文化和跨语言交流的桥梁和平台。西联学校始终秉持“家国情怀，国际视野，联大精神”的培养目标，通过不断加强中外人文交流活动，引导和启发广大学子深入思考国家和世界的未来，以家国情怀投身到推动实现中华民族伟大复兴的中国梦的历史伟业中，以国际视野和全球眼光为推动人类命运共同体建设作出新的贡献。

　　“21世纪杯”全国中小学生英语演讲比赛由中国日报社于2002年创办，每年面向全国在校中、小学生举行。大赛自创办之初即作为每年5月在英国伦敦举行的国际英语演讲比赛中国区选拔赛，高中组获胜选手将代表中国在国际舞台上展示中国青年学子的风貌。大赛已成功举办了17届，成为国内英语教学界一项重要的文化传播和学术交流品牌活动，为广大青少年学子搭建起用英语展现自我、传播中国声音的舞台，让热爱英语、热爱思辨、热爱演讲、热爱和平的中国青少年走向世界舞台，让世界倾听中国声音。
